Works with POE for accessories

I have a POE camera and was very happy that the camera's DC plug works to power the microphone plug and that's the way POE transfers power (mostly reverse connection), eliminating the need for an additional power supply.

Works well - very sensitive

This mic is connected between camera power so I was a bit worried about the effects of camera voltage and current but they were fine. It's very sensitive, loud noises nearby were a bit distorted (dog barking) so I had to adjust a bit. I had a bit of trouble finding the right screwdriver for the small adjustment screw. I use this microphone on a Foscam G2 camera. If your camera is powered by an Ethernet cable, you only need to connect a 12 volt power line for the microphone.

Caution! the cables are quite short

Microphone received very quickly. It appears to be of good quality but I found the wires to be too short for my application. It cannot bridge the distance between the power input jack and the audio jack on my camera. I'm sure it will work with extension cords. I'll save it and try it on another camera later.

Worked great straight out of the box

I hooked this up to an Amcrest dome IP camera on my porch (I just got the last few inches out of the cable jack at the base of the camera along with the rest of the camera plugged wiring in the ceiling with ethernet cable etc.) d.). It worked right out of the box and required no configuration. I had to run a 12V power extender along with the ethernet cable as I couldn't think of a way to power the mic via PoE (the camera could have been powered anyway). I thought the seller offering a free PDF…
