My welding just got a lot easier.

I was using an old welding helmet and the aperture setting was not working properly. I couldn't see what I was welding. It was almost impossible to follow the seam. On this helmet I added a 2.5x magnifier and wow I see a lot better. My welds are even and clean.

Pros
  • Personal protective equipment
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great helmet at a good price.

There has been one like this for about 4 years. It's surprisingly well preserved. There are some obscuration issues when you're welding something from behind and not looking directly at the arc. I agree it doesn't go far enough back the neck. I can't do a lot of SMAW work without getting my beard spattered, but other than that it's a great helmet.

Pros
  • Welding helmets
Cons
  • I don't remember

Good quality! for safety

a month ago, less than 5 years since i bought it, it still works great. I didn't use it much for the first few years, but over time I'm welding more and more on my cars. Still works great. As with all solar powered helmets, you should regularly clean the inside and outside of the outer clear plastic shield. Any accumulation of welding fumes, dust, etc. will cause the helmet to darken more slowly or not at all, so keep it clean!

Pros
  • tools and household items
Cons
  • only available in black
