Works great. Usually a dimension doesn't contain another dimension with a maximum dimension, so excuse that. I installed it in a wooden box I had made. If the box was a metal plate I would certainly provide even 0.012" for adequate mounting thickness. I had to build up the mounting surface with thin strips of veneer that I cut with a band saw. .040" thick mounting surface for grip.

Have used them on a project so far, no faults and the bolt/nut seems to hold them in place well. I haven't subjected them to much plugging/unplugging, but got good contacts. The only minor gripe is that they aren't symmetrical in relation to the connector, which can confuse the case design if you don't notice it beforehand. The soldering points are far enough away from the connector so you don't have to worry about accidentally ruining solder drips or wire ends. I'll buy more if needed.

Because the wall of my case is a bit thicker than the metal case, I was able to use a slightly longer thread length. The round screw on the mounting ring is aluminum and almost appears to be a mismatched thread, defeating any holding power on at least the first 1/16 inch of the thread. They worked better than the cheap ones I bought on Ebay. The nut doesn't screw up on ebay guys. But the threaded ones are much better. UPDATE: I am very frustrated with the short threaded neck of these bushings! What the hell?!?! I am trying to fit it through a 1.5mm piece of plastic and the threaded neck is too short!
