Charles Hubert 3847 Mechanical Picture Review

We bought this for our niece as a late Christmas/early birthday present and she loves it. She had wanted a small pocket watch for a long time and this fitted her perfectly.

This is my first pocket watch but this is my third skeleton watch. They have a very attractive design (photos don't do it justice). I don't see this as an everyday watch so can't comment on how accurate it is, but one wind will last 24+ hours. I bought this when I wear French link cuffs and wristwatches just aren't available. It looks professional and accurate for at least a few days so I highly recommend it. See my comment for an update.

This is a beautiful but very poor quality mechanical watch. I've always been very careful with this and have never won more than 30 times (never forced). I did this every night. After about a year I couldn't start it more than 25 times (because I felt the resonance and didn't want to damage the mechanism). But things got worse. Now it's slow too. I'm considering sending it in for repairs, but I'm afraid it will be too expensive. I do not recommend this watch.

Bought for my husband as an anniversary present. I bought it thinking it must be brand new. I opened it up to check before giving it to him and I'm so glad I did! The foam inside was torn, the certificate that came with it was torn and the chain that should have been in a separate part of the packaging was attached in a jewelry pouch. This is a nice and lovely watch and I would recommend it to anyone. It is light in weight which gives it some quality. It doesn't have that simple "Made in China" feel, so I can't tell even if it were. I had some trouble winding the watch for the first few days of use. The spindle "stopped" after a few turns, which only drives the watch briefly. After the first three days I found the stem offered less resistance and now I believe it is working as intended.

I gave this watch to my husband for a wedding two months ago. I was so pleased with the beautiful gift box it came in; The presentation was perfect. He likes watches best. It seems heavy and of high quality, and it shows it to everyone. He wears it with the chain attached 2-3 times a week and so far it has held up well to such gentle use. Thanks for the wonderful gift!
