Good size for leg rest. The ring will slip over time.

The size (diameter) is large, very convenient to rest your feet. If it's less, it becomes very uncomfortable to use - you have to move your legs too far back to rest, so it's not comfortable at all. The only negative is that the turnbuckle does not stay in place over time. It weakens and the ring slips off. I have to reposition it every month or two.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expandable

Useful upgrade for chairs and sofas

Used one of these to replace the bearing ring on one of the drafting chairs we use as lab chairs. This is a big improvement. The extra size is nice, but the main improvement is that the clip actually works on this ring. Standard rings slipped off throughout the day no matter how you twisted the handle. This ring stays where I set it. With the latter, I converted one of my HumanScale Freedom chairs into an ultra-comfortable lab chair. ;)

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Doubtful

Too bad I didn't have a drawing stool. That would be wonderful!

I give 5 stars even though I had to return it. It is very well made, very easy to install and very strong once installed and secured to the base of the chair. However, it's not really designed for a regular-height office chair, and that's my fault. I thought it might help with leg fatigue from sitting in an office chair that is too high, but it's really impractical as it's hard to reach. If I had a drawing chair, this would be perfect.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Easy assembly - requires force

After buying a bar table with variable height, the chair needs to be changed. The chair was new (less than 6 months old) and according to the manufacturer I could not convert my existing task chair to the drafting/architectural style. The option was too expensive for my budget. Did a little research, found this option, called the chair repair guys and found that rebuilding costs can be quite high. Somehow, using my husband's muscles, we were able to go from desk to drawing in about 30 minutes…

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Some small things

Fixed seat with extended height and low cost replacement.

I had an oversized chair I bought at one of the stationery stores (St*****) about a year ago for a great price and although it worked great with my desk the footstool slipped again and again No matter how hard I turn the adjustment knob. Over time the inner lining of the center ring began to fall apart and I tried many different ways to solve the slippage problem but I couldn't. I finally got it a few days ago, was looking for something to replace the ring and found it here. I learned a lot…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Neutral
