Protective Accessories and Hats for Little Boys: City Threads Bucket Hats & Caps Review

The color and fabric are nice but the tailoring is a little odd. It's tight in some places and loose/baggy in others so I have to pull the hat all the way up and it eventually covers it to the eyebrows. Or, if I don't, there will be a lot of fluffiness in the head area. Maybe other children's heads would be better suited for this. I would try!

My 5 month old has a large head (95th percentile) so I chose a medium head. It's a little tight, but we can use it for a few more months. However, the depth is quite deep and the edge blocks his view. I understand it should have some depth because baby hats can easily come off, but it's too deep in my opinion. As for the color, I bought the Road thinking it was gray but it's actually light green. Damn.

The quality of this hat seemed harsh to me, I sent it back. I expected it to be a lot softer, got one myself. h&m got much less and the quality was much better than this.

Love it! My baby is 7 months old and his head size is 19 inches (he is in 98%). Size 6-18M fits perfectly and looks very charming. Face/head off, but don't be pushy or too stupid. Found everything with this hat! He seems to like it too, he doesn't take it off or squint in the sun!

Good quality hat. However, the color is a bit olive (green) and not at all like the picture! Judging by the picture I thought it was some kind of grey. Will return!

It's a nice hat, but big! My 3 year old has a pretty average head, maybe even a bit bigger than average. I wanted him to wear this hat for several years so I bought him a size 4-6. Fits my husband! Too big for a 3 year old and falls on his face. I'm size 2-3 and it's still a bit big but more bearable so he will wear it. Short story: The size is smaller.

i like the hat It would be nice if there was a chin strap option. My 1 year old likes to take his hat off if it gets in his way or slips.

Super stylish and great quality. I bought these for my 2 and 4 year old boys and loved them so much I bought 4! You like them as much as I do. This is a heavier quality hat and by no means light.

Very satisfied, the hat looks good and very cute. I've had quite a few compliments at the park. More importantly, it shades his head and eyes well and seems comfortable since he doesn't actually take that thing off! My 18 month old is a little short for his age and is perfect for waxing.

The hat is absolutely priceless. It's cute and very well done. I would say it's a little big - we bought the small for a 3 month old who has quite a big head and choked on his whole head. The good news is that I think we can use it well beyond 0-6 months as stated.

I thought the fit might be tricky as my baby has a huge daddy's head, but it actually has plenty of room to grow! We live in a beach town and this hat protects her eyes from the sun and makes trips to the beach a pleasure. It's a big hat, solid construction, and a very reasonable price. I like it and will probably buy another one in a different color.

The color is not as pictured/described but other than that it is exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find in the store. A basic sun hat with a folded brim but no crazy pattern, no chin strap etc. Great for my 1 year old and room to grow.

Nice hat, well tailored but definitely not the right size. My almost 7 month old baby drowns at 0-6 months size and her head size is in the 50th percentile. I'm glad I didn't get 6 to 18! Although the hat itself is good!

I bought the "Travel" color because I thought it was dark grey. The photo looks naturally dark gray. It is green! It doesn't go with anything. Not worth the money.

So it's funny. The hat is very beautiful and well made, although there is something wrong with the sizing. I ordered black and white and the white is much larger than black and larger than the size chart says it should be. So I sent the white hat back and placed a new order. Guess what? the new one was exactly the same! more than it should be. I gave her a third chance :) And the third hat came out even bigger. So I suspect something is wrong with the white hat sizes.

Turns out a little smaller than expected. A good basic hat but without the silly cartoon characters and/or animals that are so common on children's clothing.

My kid is two years old and we spend a lot of time outdoors so we tried a lot of panamas. City Threads is one of my favorites. It is very durable, not flimsy or flimsy like other bucket hats. Keep in mind that the color named "Road" looks gray on the Rhine but has shades of blue and green, so it's actually a very faded celadon. It's pretty cute. By the way, City Threads also sells my favorite cotton masks. It is a worthy brand of quality fiber.

Sizing Info - My son is 2 years 10 months old. He has a really big head and doesn't fit in any of the kid's hats at Target or similar stores. However, the hats in the boys section are too big. I ordered the XL for 4-6 year olds and it fits him very well. Firm so it won't fall off, little room to grow. (He won't be around for more than a year or two.) I love this hat. Bought for my little 5 year old son. He is undergoing chemotherapy and his doctor warned me that he would be particularly prone to sunburn during treatment, particularly his small bald spot.
