Coleman Machine 94303382 Digital Thermostat for Hot/Cool Temperature Control Review

This unit replaced the 'mechanical' thermostat that came with my Jayco trailer. I was able to install it myself, but I felt better when it was installed by a qualified technician. It is much more accurate than the original unit and supports all aspects of the RV's cooling/heating system, even the fan-only function. Press the bottom button and it will light up showing the current temperature and the active function.

This box keeps the temperature much more stable than the analog box that came with my caravan. I have a feeling it makes the heating system more efficient, but I'm not sure if that's really the case. That may be wishful thinking. Anyway, the temperature of the trailer doesn't fluctuate that much, and I'm glad about that! The thermostat itself works great. There were two downsides to this thermostat, but one of them is that you can't view the set temperature and the air temperature at the same time. Another downside is the cable ports on the back (I uploaded a photo of the back) which are very difficult to insert cables into. There are no instructions for depressurizing the port. It required one person to hold the tab, one person to hold the thermostat, and the other hand to insert the wire into the hole. Just…
