🍳 Versatile and Durable: Coleman Stainless Steel Mess Kit for Outdoor Cooking Review

I've seen complaints about flimsy plastic and wasn't expecting much but my mug was cracked on arrival and well packaged. It's just pure rubbish. Luckily the other items are great. I would buy again.

This is the first canteen set we have received. My son joined the Boy Scouts in March and we needed a canteen set for his camping trips. I have no idea what kind to choose. It was one of the first to come up in a search. After using it a few times I like the stainless steel material. However, it's going to be hot, so he'll have to learn to hold her. Also, it would be great if Spork was part of the deal!

I bought this because I saw Zach Fowler from Alone take it. Took it for my week in the woods and it works great! It's convenient to use the lid like a frying pan, and the detachable handle is preferable to the flimsy wire handles on Stanley devices, which get hot and require the use of gloves. I haven't had enough time to damage it but I imagine if and when it was damaged I would buy another one.

I bought 2 of these one for scout camp and the other for my emergency kit. I really like them but they don't come with a plug so you'll have to buy one elsewhere. I like the fact that they are strong and well made, things wear out along the way and that's why aluminum pot sets don't last long enough. I highly recommend getting a Boy Scout stainless steel cookware set.

On a Coleman camp stove, the pans were just the right size for cooking for 3 people (we cooked 2 servings when cooking for all 5). The detachable handle works great, I just don't know why you can't buy an extra one for added convenience; I did my best. Burnt food (hard to avoid entirely on a camp stove that gets very hot) very difficult to wipe off completely and there was a bit of warping but they still fitted, worked and were well packaged. A plastic bowl and mug also came in handy.

Exactly as shown. Please note that these are very small pots. If there is only one, then there is no problem. I blew out the first time I used this frying pan. I was delighted that it was a stainless steel pot and trusted it as a Coleman brand. Slowly sauté the mushrooms and olive oil with my MSR stove, after 2 minutes the pan started smoking turning black in the center and clear and I could see right through the heating element.
