Saluting the Colonel

I was attracted to this product by the steampunk nature of the name and image. I've tried others, but I keep coming back to Colonel Konk. Which mustache wax you prefer is a very personal choice. This material is easy to apply and I don't apply so much that my Van Dyke looks greasy. Every beard and mustache is different, so you just have to try a few and choose the one you like. For me that is the most. Maybe that makes me a thief, but I eat General Tso's chicken and use Colonel Ichabod Konk's…

Colonel Monk Mustache Wax is the opposite of mustache wax!

Colonel Monk Mustache Wax can make your hair smell nice and soft, but Mustache Wax does NOTHING. The product softens the mustache and wraps around each hair, making it impossible to train the hair. It offers a negative retention stiffness. I've tried 4 times, I can't even use regular hair gel while it's on. You literally have to rinse it off completely and then use other products to make the handlebars curl or hold their shape. This material is the opposite of mustache wax! waste of money.

Mustache wax without hold

I was disappointed with this mustache wax. It gave my mustache no support. I've tried other mustache waxes in the past and was able to get a good shape with the wax. This wax gave my mustache a little extra volume and some shape but mostly left my mustache and lips looking oily.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Not for everyone

Ideal for straight, modest mustaches.

I have a relatively straight, modest mustache. I use a CPAP machine and unfortunately the mask is ruining my mustache. All I need is a wax that will line my mustache hair and make it look smooth. I like Colonel Conk's because it's soft, easy to apply, and firm enough to smooth and hold unruly mustache hair. I don't like hard or paste waxes at all. They're more difficult to apply, and I'm not trying to mold my mustache into something Michelangelo would be proud of.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Achievement
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

is not at all what I expected when I bought it. Firstly the hold is below average, works in anything sticky and oily like petroleum jelly because it's all crap. Vaseline and paraffin wax were the main and only ingredients besides perfume, and I didn't like that at all. I'm just sticking with what I've been using for months: Clubman Mustache Wax. Clubman holds up like a goddamn miracle! After work, it will harden your hip flap until the next time you wash it off.

  • practical thing
Cons
  • periodicity

Agree with most: Gentlemen

According to U2, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for." I thought Colonel Conk Model 118 would cure my mustache ailments. I ordered Colonel Conk after seeing it at the Mast General Store in Boone, NC along with some other great shaving kits and hair tonics. When I found it here on Amazon for such a great price I was excited to try it. I have a pretty impressive full beard and wish the mustache was more "busy" to complete the look, but to be honest I hate sharing half a meal with lip…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
