Almost as good as expected. It's not very thick, so when it comes to protecting you from extreme cold, choose something better. But that's def. comfortable and warm.

This hat is a plain Columbia hat that was expected but arrived THREE months later than expected! I ordered it with a coat and gloves as a Christmas present and was warned it might arrive a few days after Christmas, but it arrived YESTERDAY February 20th!

Experts say that you lose up to 45% of your body heat when your head is uncovered. Not with this kid. It's warm and comfortable on the coldest winter nights. I wear it every day, up to 18-20 hours a day, and hardly notice it's there. The best part is that it never irritates the skin on the forehead like some other materials. Don't take one, take two!

What mentality for all cases? Everyone knows that one size doesn't fit all. I don't have a very big head, but this hat is too small. It doesn't cover my ears much, and the moment I start moving my head the cap slips off the tops of my ears and doesn't cover them at all. If it fits right, I'd keep it for myself, although the $19 cap is also grossly overpriced.

Let me start with what many people say, this hat runs small. I wore it for a week hoping it would stretch, but Columbia uses good materials that will stretch back in place. The hat keeps my balding head warm, but doesn't help my big ears much. My wife has now owned it as it fits her much smaller head well. So if you have a small head I don't recommend this.
