For the money I'm thrilled.

This flash is easy to install and use. Haven't used it enough to form an opinion on the battery life. The battery door is difficult to close and if you're not a patient person I might see some people breaking it. Some reviews mention the flash rotating on their lens, I see this happening. Look how mine is installed, it's upside down and stays in place. I considered Canon for around $550. I'm very glad I bought this one instead.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Negative impression

Great product for this price!

I bought this ring flash for macro photography and was amazed by the results after just a few shots! The interface is user-friendly (although you can read the manual if you're not familiar with Flash). I liked the ability to independently control the power of the two parts of the ring. Also the different lighting modes (continuous/sharp) are very helpful to get the right focus, especially in low light conditions. Conclusions: Really good quality/price.

Overview of the K&F KF-150 Macro Ring Flash

This KF-150 TTL Macro Flash works with all my film (Nikon F5, Nikon F6) and digital cameras (Nikon D3, Nikon D5) in TTL mode . The Nikon F5 doesn't have a red flash indicator in the viewfinder, but when you press the shutter button, the KF-150 Macro Ring Flash fires. On the Nikon F6, D3 and D5, the red flash icon lights up. I was very surprised that this flash works on my Nikon F5! Attached are two sample macro ring flash images taken when the shutter was released on my Nikon D3 and D5 cameras.

Pros
  • Excellent Design

Perfect! for flashes

I've had several cheaper macro ring flashes in the past but none came close to the quality of K&F. This macro flashlight offers too many features/options that other cheaper macro flashlights don't have. As soon as I took the package out of the mailbox, I knew from the weight that it would not be a flimsy product, I was right! I also like the locking system inside the light that locks into place on the end of the camera lens. Cheaper units simply rotate, making it impossible to use the…

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Definitely worth your money!

Wow! Fits directly onto my D4s with no problems. I love that it comes with multiple adapters for each lens I use. I ordered a different brand/brand from a different manufacturer and it just didn't feel solid. I sent this one back and got this one. Doesn't matter! This is durable and easy to attach and detach from the camera. Put the batteries in and off we went. I'm very glad it's TTL. This makes a big difference when the flash interacts with the camera. This is a very important feature when…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Included is a belt pouch (rectangular pouch with belt hole on the back, double zip on the top) including various threaded adapters for attaching a flash ( from 52 mm to 77 mm, not for lenses with a thread diameter of more than 77 mm). The user manual is in Chinese and English. Nikon camera F/ values are accurate (tested with G lenses). Operating exposure compensation is intuitive - just play around to figure out which button to press (but the LCD shows "+" as a division sign). Not noticing the…
