Cable does the job. This comes in handy when you can control the console from the front of the unit rather than reaching through tight spaces to get to the regular console port.

In my job I manage dozens of Cisco switches and routers from time to time. Cable. This is a replacement for both! Now I can use the built in USB console port on the new Cisco devices and get rid of the old serial cable. I've found the P&P driver to work well and I don't need to look for a driver suite or an official Cisco driver to get it working.

This is a standard mini USB to USB cable, not a console cable. It has no FTDI chip or FT232 chip. Definitely a waste of my time and money. If it's not a Cisco console cable, don't say it's compatible with Cisco products.

I agree with the other reviewer, this is NOT a console cable. When I plugged it into a Windows 10 Pro desktop, it did NOT show up in the COM and LPT panes. in device manager. Sad note that this is sold as a console cable when it's a mini USB-A to USB cable and that's it (without an FTDI chipset in the cable it won't work as a console cable).

USB Mini Cable. Aside from being blue (the official color of the Cisco console cable), it's almost impossible to tell apart from other similar cables. As long as it works, that's all that matters, and surprisingly, this one works. Remember that you need to install the Cisco USB console driver on the PC for it to work.
