I bought these for my husband when he felt the need to clear his driveway. As we live in the mountains it can happen sometimes. As he is 79 years old and already had a knee and hip prosthesis I will use whatever protection I can find. They keep him safe and healthy.

Purchased for parents living in snow/ice climates. Unfortunately my dad says they don't stay on his boots - he says the spikes sink into the snow/earth and pulls off his boots rendering them useless. Last week he fell and slipped on the icy ground! I was really hoping they would work and I'm disappointed.

You've already saved a life! I live in Florida but spend a lot of time with my family up north where it can get very cold and I'm not used to walking around this area. They slip right over my boots and give me more confidence when walking my dog in freezing conditions. So easy to put on and take off yet they stay secure during use. I recommend :)

Went on a hike to Mount Marcy in the Adirondacks. They were a must, but unfortunately didn't help me 3/4 of the way up. Luckily I had a spare set just in case. For light use they might be ok because before they blew apart they worked really well on the ice and boulders we climbed. I just wouldn't rely on them on long hikes or where they might be critical.

Seriously useless items. Bought these a while ago to prepare for snow and ice, have only worn them 6 times and the spikes are falling out. It's too late to return them, so they end up in the trash. I put a piece of white paper behind the thing to show how the rubber ripped completely. I am a small elderly woman who takes care of her things. After wearing it six times, that shouldn't have happened.

I wish I could love them. Great price, the spikes were strong and worked well. But (see photo) I've been using them for about 8 hours in total over 2 weeks and they are falling apart. The spikes fell out. Rubber/silicone/whatever they're made of will tear apart. I don't use them for work, climbing or anything aggressive, I just use them to safely walk around my area in the mountains when the roads are covered in snow and ice. Quality and durability are unacceptable. I cannot recommend them.

We ordered two sets, one for me and one for my wife. She lost one of hers the first time, but we came back and found it the next day. It was slipping off her boot so we secured it with a lace attached to the side loops and over her boot and that seemed to help. They can slip if not tight enough. They work very well on ice, they don't slip. I'm not sure about the durability though. My front spike has a small tear in the rubber surrounding the spike and it only happened after a 5 mile hike.

I've been wearing these cleats on my winter boots for a few weeks now and am disappointed with their fit. My boots are a size 9 women's Khombu winter boots that fall within the cleat size range (women's 8-11). However, the cleated straps tend to slip under the ball of the foot and eventually down the heel as you walk. The heel pods are already closer to the arch of the foot so they offer even less traction when the strap goes down my heel. I find myself stopping constantly to tighten the heel…
