In general, I like the style, the decoration, the size and the weight. I didn't want a French-style water change, I wanted a dish with character. One of the cutest butter dishes I've ever seen, and it's twice as good because you don't butter it like a "traditional" butter dish that has a tray and a large ones have lids that end with butter around the rim of the tray and the rim of the lid. I use a lot of oil so when I saw this rustic butter dish at a friend's house I knew I wanted one too. haha! I live here USA and use the typical long sticks of butter. I can stick 4 sticks in this butter dish or a big cube from Costco. Either way it works fine.
