I expected the socks to be heavy. it's not like this. They are medium weight on the bottom of the foot and light on top. As a result, they don't fill the trunk properly. Also, my foot is right in the middle of the size range of the product I ordered. But the opening is insanely narrow. Took them on a trip to Iceland in January. They were very comfortable and protected my feet well from the cold. I have to say that it wasn't as cold as usual in Iceland this time of year. The temperature was between 27 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit while I was there, so keep that in mind. What I can say, however, is this: They worked just as well as a few of the more expensive brands I bought at the same time. They arrived with a few threads (loops) torn which forced me to return them - if they have never been worn and have this flaw I can't imagine how they do would be after wearing and washing.
