Great village piece

This is a very nice village piece! It has different lighting than the other pieces as it has its own built in light, but it's definitely a yellowish type of light for a dinner party. Very pleasant.

Nostalgic house "Christmas in the city ".

Slightly different theme for the Christmas in the City house. That is, this is not a residential building, not a shop and not a church. It brings back old memories of eating at street restaurants as a kid in the 1950s.

Pros
  • Good Cause
Cons
  • Working Speed

Outstanding art and craftsmanship. Excellent details.

This is another incredibly well designed item from Department 56. This is an outstanding recreation of an American diner with really clear attention to every detail of the building, right down to the front and back steps and handrails. . You can look inside the diner to see the counter, chairs to sit on, and people at tables by the windows. This item was packaged in plastic and protected by a foam insert which was housed in a beautiful designer sleeve. Excellent workmanship.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Something Wrong

A little disappointed

Although they gave measurements I really thought it would be a little thicker and a little shorter for dinner. My village is made up of different parts from different manufacturers, so it's a bit difficult to match the parts, but so far I've been successful. This seemed underrated to me. Not crazy about the fork either. I haven't seen this on other items and it seems a bit flimsy as you have these two pieces of plastic that you have to snap together before sticking into the wall. If only there…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
