If you're trying to record 20 year old videos like me

BEWARE and do your research. If, like me, you try to record old videos from 20 years ago, your videos will be considered copy protected. I advise everyone to do their research before buying. Unfortunately I bought this, found a bug and now I'm seeing a lot of feedback from the software company (Power Director 12) that comes with this product. I have yet to find something that works. Apparently old VHS tapes get out of sync or something (I don't know this stuff) and thinks your stuff is…

Works after you research

. With finesse, the device itself does very well. I'm a 21-year-old college student (according to my mother, I "understand" technology) and I'm converting my mother's old vinyl and videotapes to digital for Christmas. This device works to convert vinyl! I had my doubts at first and ordered another audio grabber, but returned it as unnecessary. Keep in mind that you will have to wait until the films and LPs run out, which means about 2 hours for film and 1 hour for vinyl. Since the original…

  • . It is amazing.

  • . Do you have any doubts.

Five Star Video Capture Software - Highly Recommended!

I bought it in 2008 thinking I could convert my family and relatives' videotapes. Little did I know that I would end up with nearly 120 tapes to digitize. Installing the software and connecting the VCR to your computer with a cable is very simple. Inserting a VHS tape and playing it on your computer screen is easy. But unless you want to record each tape in one continuous block of video with intermittent clips, there shouldn't be a pause between events. You have to sit and look at each feed and

Mixed product chaos :-(

LOL I don't even know where to start but here's a little background. I'm 52 years old and have my own computer support and maintenance company that I've been running since 10 years years People pay me to solve their problems Before I solved problems at other companies Reviews didn't put me off Unusable My hands-on experience with hardware and software dates back to the late 1970's when I was a teenager again. .It doesn't scare me.Hard drive. The first problem is that this product doesn't come…

The real DIAMOND among countless USB-VHS recording devices!

First, let me say I've tried them all before: TOTMC, EZCAP, even Elgato with limited (if any) results. TOTMC was the best of the three that could actually record video and audio, but the problem was that the audio was severely broken in the final MPEG2 using this software (ShowBiz). After that I figured it was the capture's fault and bought EZCap (coming back with ShowBiz). This one did the same, but with even worse results. Then he decided, "Oh, I don't spend much!" and jumped onto Elgato…

  • Stable test results

  • There are nuances

Works, but not without problems

If you're looking for something that's cheap, quick and easy, but works (and quality isn't your top priority) then this is for you. As almost everything else says in other reviews, the included Power Director 12 core software has a serious problem with false alarms for copyrighted content, even on home-recorded VHS tapes with store-bought blank tapes. If it does, the video will stop recording, so you'll have to pause the tape, rewind the tape to where it left off, and then start recording at…

Great inexpensive tool that works on Windows 10

I only gave tech support one star because of the lousy manual. I never tried to contact her. This system is difficult to understand because once installed, you will figure out how to create a DVD yourself. In this review I want to try to help with that because it's a great inexpensive tool that WORKS on Windows 10. I had to transfer 8mm cassettes from analog to digital on my computer so I could load them. DVD. I didn't want to do any fancy editing. Just save. Install the software as described…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Ugly packaging
