🐕 Convenient and Secure: Dog Mate Medium Dog Door with Liner Review

Good assembly and has met all expectations. My adult dog didn't like the hard plastic door at first (he's been using a different brand for 12 years), but he's adapted. I like the size of this door.

My current white is hard to keep clean so I went with brown this time. Both my cats and dog go in and out many times each day. I had one with a flexible valve and I like this one much better.

Needed a slightly larger door for my chubby chihuahua; Now my smallest chihuahua (4lbs) is scared of the flap because he has trouble pushing the flap in or out. The insulation is very dense, which makes it impossible to completely close the sash.

We bought these for our large cat who didn't quite fit the standard sized cat flap. The only thing we didn't like about this hatch was the included plastic fillers to fill in the gaps between the door and the hatch itself. This depends on the width of the door you are mounting the flap on. Although they would have worked, we decided to cut small pieces of plywood and use them instead. Overall I would recommend this product. It's quiet and pet friendly.

Over the weekend I installed it on the door to the garage. A dog door is tedious to assemble and install. Too many parts to fit, measure, fit and cut. I had to drill 8 holes, 4 for the screws, 4 more for the door cutout (which had to be measured and marked on the door template). The 4 inner side pieces had to be cut to fit, after inserting into one side of the dog door they had to be inserted into the door and all 4 pieces fitted to the other half at the same time (fits all 4 pieces to match…
