Description of DonJoy Lateral Patella Support Without Outdoor Recreation

Intended for those suffering from lateral patellofemoral knee pain; Ideal for day-to-day activities and while playing sports; both in and out of the water. Choose the knee brace to best suit your needs, between Drytex and neoprene; and with or without aluminum hinges for added stability. Drytex allows for improved airflow and is preferred by individuals in warm weather climates and those with neoprene allergies or irritations. Neoprene is a thicker, wetsuit-like material that provides a warmer option. Universal design allows the DonJoy Lateral J Patella Knee Brace to be used by both men and women. Fit tip-take the measurement of your thigh and calf 6 inch above and below your kneecap using a flexible type tape measure. Use the diameter you measure here.

Not impressed with orthotics, splints and braces

Urgently needed for a torn knee ligament, orthosis is expensive and was recommended but one of the velcro straps broke 10 days after use. Now I have to come up with something else!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Expensive

Not as advertised - Medical items and equipment

After a week of use, the corset has stretched so much that it no longer fits. The item received did not match the picture. I ended up ordering directly from Don Joy and got the real braces in the photo for $13 less than Amazon.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are problems

Uncomfortable seams.

I've had it for 3 weeks now and the knee brace has helped so far. The material stretched after a few hours of wear. There is also a vertical seam on the hollow of the knee, which is extremely uncomfortable. it was a fill design detail.

Pros
  • Durable Construction
Cons
  • Secret

Says return is possible - that's a lie

Disappointed to order what you need to measure the fit. It was too loose so I ordered a size S. I ordered there because it says "return possible". nope This is wrong and very disappointing. You cannot return. Disappointed because Revain used to be better.

Pros
  • everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some errors

Very uncomfortable, hot and stays on top

I have used several other J clamps and this is the most uncomfortable, it pulls the hair on my legs and causes a rash. He is also not breathing, which makes him very sweaty and hot. Nor will it stand up. I have a lot of knee pain and the brace has reduced the pain but I have stopped wearing the brace 90% of the time because it is not worth it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Knee pads with excellent performance.

This is my first knee brace. I used it on a high mountain hike in Switzerland. It was comfortable even walking 10 hours a day. I'm a cautious hiker and the post is particularly useful on descents. In the last four days I've descended about 13,300 feet in the Alps. I also climbed about 12,000 feet on this section of the route. The mount gets a lot of use and works pretty well. Make sure you get the right size. I thought I would order a large but was medium above and below the knee.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Negative impression

Useful for Patella Alta

My son was diagnosed with Patella Alta yesterday after suffering a knee subluxation last Sunday. He's still recovering and was wearing the wrong corset all week before we found out what was going on. The doctor's assistant helped me to choose. While we need the little one, he's only 14, we'll keep the middle one when he grows up and bought the little one without hesitation. He says the difference when he's on his feet and on crutches compared to using the wrong brace is huge! His pain has gone…

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Older Model
