Worthless fix for broken AC

Based on our own experience, this product did not effectively repair our broken blend door. The installation process was difficult and the instructions were unclear. The only positive aspect was that it was affordable. But, in the end, it was a waste of time and money.

Pros
  • Easy and affordable solution to repair broken blend doors without having to replace the entire HVAC system.
Cons
  • Installation may require some mechanical experience/knowledge and can be time-consuming.

I did a lot more work with this kit

, NOT for thawing as the notes say. It is necessary to cut a sash. Find a rod that fits over the end of the shaft and protrudes through the box. Enlarge the hinge bracket in the box. Then stuck at the dealer for a $30 plastic stop pin because the metal drive pin is for a different door.

Fits but requires additional hardware to make it work

The part fits snugly into the HVAC box, but the small cotter pin included is not strong enough to lock the link arm in place keep. With a little effort, the pull rod that leads to the other tap door will pop out. I'll try the e-clip to see if it holds it in place. In the original design, the connecting arm simply snaps onto the original plastic arm.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide
