Was as expected for the price.

As other reviewers have said, they put "Made in China" right there for everyone to see. We used this on a 2001 Ford f350 double cab truck. Our old one broke and someone taped it together and it didn't work. While it was fairly easy to install, the shifter tube had to be replaced as it was still quite loose after installation. I was able to put a washer in to steady it which helped a lot and the od worked again and had a nice little light on it. So I would recommend swapping out the switch tube…

Easy install on 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty

I recently installed this in my mate's 2003 F250 Super Duty Lariat to replace his old broken one. Installation is easy once you remove the speaker covers. Disconnect the OD harness, use a punch and hammer to knock out the pivot/lock pin, then reverse the process to install the new part. (I put some silicone grease in the mounting groove before installing the new lever.) The new lever seems a little sloppy where it attaches to the shifter tube, but the original was the same. I suspect it's due…

The product requires some work to work.

I had to reconnect the connector to get it working properly. When first installed, Overdrive was always disabled. I took a multimeter and checked the pin position on this product compared to my old one, the middle wire was in the correct position but the outer ones needed to be switched to make it work properly. Also, this product has more functions than the original part. I made a sheet metal gasket to take up the extra play. About ten minutes of work in all. If I had to do it again I would…

My 16 year old truck shifts like new now, the gauge reads correctly

Fits my 250 F250 Straight. The O/D switch function was restored and when installed along with a new shift tube, bushings and brackets, Ford's notorious sloppy shifting was restored to factory smoothness. My 16-year-old truck now shifts like new, the turn signals work correctly and I no longer have any problems parking. It's a bit annoying that "Made in China" is printed in large right on the visible part of the arm, but I just put it on a spoked disc and repainted the bare spot. There's no…

Works after modification

Works well after rewiring. I had the wiring wrong, the OD wiring was reversed on the button in the shift knob. As a result, overdrive remained permanently OFF. Needless to say, the 5.4-liter Expedition takes fuel economy to a whole new level when it can't switch to overdrive. Anyhow, it should be noted that the wire color code on the plug of the one I received appeared to be correct. But I had to swap the two outer wires for the overdrive to work properly. Also, not a very tight fit at the…

Properly Wired for 2000 F150 Lariat Longbed

So my ignorance and limited research lead me to a small issue with this. Installation was pretty easy, 2000 F150 Lariat. It was wired correctly, but since I was new to this truck with a broken factory O/D switch, I incorrectly expected the "O/D Off" light to come on when I pushed the button on the dash , but it didn't, so I changed the interspersed blue and green outer wires as other reviews suggested. That's when I noticed that the light on the switch itself was on (and stuck). I swapped the…

Functional but not very pretty to look at

There is nothing wrong with functionality. However, the optics and build quality leave room for improvement. Compared to the factory lever, the inscriptions and gauges look paltry. Also, the end cap was mounted at the wrong angle, making the lights difficult to see during the day because they point too far. The ending should have been rolled back more. Unfortunately, Ford no longer makes them, so finding a new one is difficult if not impossible, and getting one from a junkyard can lead to the…
