I was trying to get this BL-5 battery cover for my Nikon battery grip when I bought a Nikon battery grip that was somewhat used. BUT, no used grip was included, and I couldn't find the Nikon BL-5 camera cover anywhere, even directly from Nikon. This DSTE replacement has allowed me to use the Nikon battery grip with ease. I would recommend it in a heartbeat if you find you need it.

The DSTE BL-5 battery cover is priced compared to Nikon's OEM version which is 2.5 times more expensive. EN-EL18c battery clicks on contact. The green battery release lever is nice and smooth. The case fits perfectly in my MB-D18 battery grip. Color and finish are perfectly matched. If I'm shooting sports and need 10 fps performance, I'll get an extra and backup battery.

I somehow managed to lose my original BL-5. I don't know where it went, but I really needed a new one. This fits and works great with my Nikon MB-D12 and EN-EL18 batteries (Nikon D810 camera). The Nikon version was out of stock when we needed it so these 'cheaper' ones were ordered instead. No problem, they match EN-EL18 batteries perfectly and fit securely in the pair of MB-D12 mounts we have. The build quality is very good, of course I don't have an OEM version to directly compare it to. Just a word of caution: rely on these proper Nikon branded batteries. OEM BL-5 plus en-el18c Ordered for me as a Christmas present last November and have not ordered since.
