My husband and son laughed that I got them this for Christmas! Ha, they both thank me every time there's ice cream. A bit tight on son's size 12 shoes in plus size but after about 2 wears it fits ok. Men's size 10 fits perfectly. Gotta get me a set

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not the best

Ideal for most icy conditions except dry slick concrete.

I've tried several pairs of these rods, with different grips and different attachment methods, and I have to say that I really like them the best. Ready to go out of the box and removable, you can still wear them on most surfaces (EXCEPT HARD, SMOOTH, DRY CONCRETE - they slip a bit underfoot. Amazing on ice and the replacement grip tips last for several seasons. Even my older one Mom agrees.

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • unreliable

Good product but returned due to size issue

The product itself is good but really. large should fit mens sizes 10-14! I'm a size 11 so I figured this would probably fit me. NO. I will come back and will try and try the BIG Bulky 10+ or size 13.5-15. They are well made and although I finally got a pair to put on my old moccasins (size 10.5) they were almost impossible to put on. Application. can stretch over time (rubber) but just don't fit at first.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Small things

Due North All-Purpose Traction Aid

I was able to pull a pair of these shoes over a pair of Survivor combat boots. Oooh man. thanks north I live in Wisconsin and need traction control for my legs during the winter when there is ice and snow. That's great. I still haven't removed them from my boots. I just leave them on my boots by the back door and wait for me when I go outside. They work so well I can't explain it. I slipped them on once while walking my dog. We had freezing rain and then snow dust fell on the ice floe. Nothingโ€ฆ

Keeps you from slipping on ice

I don't start the winter season without these spikes. I bought my first pair from a popular shopping channel. I bought a pair not only for myself but also for my husband and 80 year old father-in-law. I bought a very cheap pair of shoes so I only have to stretch them once. Whether you're shoveling, shoveling snow or walking in a parking lot, they prevent any slipping. The disadvantage of these snow spikes is that they are difficult to stretch on shoes. They need to be snug so I recommendโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I like that they cover the toe of the shoe.

Due North All Purpose Industrial Ice Drifts are my choice for stability, safety/quality superior to anything I have tried in the last 25 years. per day in winter in an area covered with concrete snow/thick ice. They have tungsten carbide lugs, 4 on the ball of the foot and 4 on the heel, that keep me from slipping and are of a height that doesn't throw me off balance while working or walking. (other brands had steel spikes and I still slipped). The rubber is thick and durable, and you need toโ€ฆ
