It works Computers and Accessories

If you have an old system without USB 3.0, it works great to put it in a newer case with USB 3.0 ports. It won't convert the old 2.0 version to the 3.0 version, but it will make the USB ports on the front of the newer case work.

Pros
  • Everything else
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfect for replacing an OEM motherboard with a new case

I've used many of these adapters in my "retro" game consoles where the motherboard didn't support USB3. I recently used one of these computer adapters I built for his nephew. I put the HP board in a case with USB 3 on the front. Since HP uses a proprietary pinout for its USB 3 connector on the board, I used this adapter so I could just use the standard USB 2 connector on the board and still have the front I/O working. It would be really nice if someone made an HP USB 3 to standard USB 3 adapter

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Perfect Cables & Interconnects

I have some old motherboards/processors in stock so I decided to pack them in some cheap cases. These adapters fit me perfectly. None of the older motherboards had USB 3 and all the cheap cases I bought had USB 3 on the front. That helped.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Old-new: cables and connections

I used these to convert a very old motherboard to a new case for installed USB ports, even the one that is 3.0 blue but it will only be 2.0 and yes its 13 years old lol. An outdated AMD graphics card, 8 gigabytes of memory, a quad-core Intel Core 2 processor and a weird butterfly heatsink used only for simple tasks and YouTube watching. 😁

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Used on my old Asus motherboard, worked great

I have an old Asus motherboard paired with a Lian Li PC-011 case so this USB 3.0 adapter was essential for my case to work. I didn't need two, but I may keep the extra one for a future build.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

What I needed

I ordered a USB hub but there was no updated connector on the motherboard, I wanted to return it but. I saw it and bought it. Luckily, this adapter allows me to connect a USB hub to my current motherboard. And it works!

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Works great. for USB cable

Not the most reliable design in my new PC build, but does the job of connecting the front USB 3 ports to the old USB 2 ports. I don't need USB 3 on the front (I have a lot of them on the back), and I didn't want to insert an expansion card to enable front panel ports that I rarely use. No problem.

Pros
  • The USB3.0 technology of the USB 3.0 motherboard adapter corresponds to PCI Express 2.0 (5 Gb/s). It uses 8 B10B encoding, linear feedback shift register (LFSR), data scrambling, and spread spectrum.
Cons
  • Slightly dented

I wasn't sure if that would work. But it happened!

I have read many reviews about the pins on the USB 3.0 side of the adapter getting bent when trying to connect it. When I plugged mine into the front I/O cable, there was no click or anything and it felt like it was being pushed in gently, so I was afraid it might bend. But I didn't want to unplug it to test, so I just plugged the USB 2.0 connector into the motherboard and now both USB 3.0 ports on the front of my PC work with the mouse I tested them with! I'm very happy about that as my…

Pros
  • The USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 Motherboard Adapter Cable conforms to the full cable specification with braided and foil shield protectors.
Cons
  • I will add later
