Holds up MUCH better than metal!

Since I got these to replace some of the metal spines, not a single pin has come off my jacket. And they don't leave rust marks, unlike some metal pinbacks. I hesitated and replaced all the backs of the lever pins (which look like halves of a safety pin) with these. A little JB Weld (I use a 2K fast setting steel reinforced epoxy) where you want the paperclip part to stick and let dry overnight and you have a really strong pin back.

Pros
  • Jewelry Findings
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Perfect for pen makers!

I bought these to put resin on the back and they work great! I slept with one of them in a sweatshirt and woke up with the safety pin! After making resin pens and seeing how few of them came back in what I would call "perfect" condition, I considered alternatives. I chose resin, but then I needed a reliable base to reduce trailing losses. Have tried them and 10/10 would recommend. I would like to point out that I press the carrier after the "click". I show the difference in the attached photo.

Pros
  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

DOESN'T HOLD PINS LONG

I liked these bobby pins, but then I noticed my pins were starting to disappear! The rubber pad literally slipped off with all the friction meaning another pin was lost! I was so sad when I checked my backpack and saw that a few pins were missing so I checked them to see how long it would take for them to come loose. It did not last long. I love the wide round part that makes it so easy to stick to pens, but I think this is the one and last time I'll get rubber backs.

Pros
  • Back of pins
Cons
  • Little things
