When first unpacked, it smelled terribly of formaldehyde or somehow toxic. It took over a week for the gas to dissipate and the hat to become wearable without making me cry. I have a small head but this hat is great. I usually pull mine all the way down so it doesn't move while I work and really stays in place. It doesn't crumble at all and keeps its shape after washing. I tend to air dry mine overnight and they are ready to use the next day. This is my second time buying this hat and the last one lasted me 3-4 years. I bought two of these caps. The cap itself is fine. Looks good and I like the style. I bought this because I love the type of adjustment strap this cap offers. After I adjusted the strap for my L/XL head, the extra strap didn't fit in the slot designed to hide the extra strap. I'm Oyster and I always worry about hats because they always seem to be the same size: Too small This hat is large. I have a big head and long hair so I need a comfortable hat. I have a heck of a time trying to find matching hats and this one is just perfect. It fits over my head and really fits. I spent so much money on them they kind of fit but sit on my head so they just fall off when I tilt my head. I can drop these right over my ears and they fit perfectly.
