Worked well: Bulb

It was easy to replace the old part with this one. (mine was about 35 years old). It's been working since I installed it a month ago.

Exact replacement for my old Lightolier

Installation was easy. The device itself was difficult to open and close! I was glad that I was able to extend the life of my existing recessed case instead of replacing it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Important safety device for ceiling lights.

The original unit in my ceiling light used a threaded nut, similar to a strut, to attach the unit to the junction box. It was very difficult to remove as you have to work through a relatively small hole in the ceiling. This replacement uses a spring clip that snaps into the opening of the junction box. Very easy to install. It will also be easier to remove, although I hope it never fails me. (The original was over 35 years old.)

Pros
  • Package Weight: 0.027 kg
Cons
  • There are new competitors

30 Year Old Lightolier Downlight

This isolation sensor detected a 30 year old Lightolier Downlight above my chimney. For many years we never used the light as it cycled on and off even after replacing it with a low powered LED. A simple solution other than pulling the light down and going through the 6 inch hole. Take the old one out of the electrical box, put the new one in and connect some wires. Recommend this replacement part to anyone who wants to keep their old downlight and keep the security sensor as it was originally…

Replace a part, not the entire fixture

Does your drop ceiling flash and turn off or not turn on even though the circuit breaker is not off? This sensor is to blame. They are standard on some types of lights to detect overheating and turn off the light before a fire starts. They may become moody or not open up as they age. The good news is that they can be replaced without having to buy a new light. Make sure you check what you have before ordering. To check if the problem is with the sensor, temporarily disable it and see if the…
