Do not use batteries

Works well but when the battery is dead do not put the battery too close as the static charge will be discharged on the negative side of the battery.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great for static grass when modeling

I watched a video on how to build my own static grass applicator and they requested it as a key part of the device. This was the most expensive product but it works great and is generally a lot cheaper than buying a pre-made tool.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • There are nuances

The first failed, the second is excellent.

This is the second device I am buying. For some reason the first gave off very little electrostatic charge even with a 12 volt power supply. I took a chance and bought a second one (no time to wait) and it worked great. I don't know how reliable others are.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Holy Statics, Batman!

I assembled a home made block on the innards of an electronic fly swatter and worked well on a shorter 4mm static grass. However, he had no way of getting the 7mm grass to stand up like it should. I bought this unit and powered it with a 12V 3A power supply from WII and SHAZAAM! It sucks the weed out of the applicator from a distance of 3 inches!

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Will be added later
