This is a 25 watt soldering iron with interchangeable tips that you can buy separately for around $6-8. The purchase is definitely worth it! There really isn't much more to say. Works great and the price isn't bad. I've had it for several months now. It does the job.
Most of the time it didn't get hot enough to melt the solder. I had to hold the side (not the tip which would have been more accurate) down until it went into heat mode to melt some. It only stays hot enough for about three seconds and then cools down again. I ended up ruining a broken circuit board that I wanted to fix.
I bought this Elenco SR3B professional soldering iron because it was only $16 compared to $42 for a Weller WP25 soldering iron. The Weller WP25 and Weller WP35 soldering tips are held in place next to the soldering iron tip by a knurled nut on the end of the soldering iron body. With repeated use, the knurled nut will oxidize and corrode, making it almost impossible to remove.
