Good size and bright but the battery is weak. (UPDATED)

Used in my home office as a reflector for online video conferencing. It's a good light and it's nice to have two-tone dimming + light filter to get a nice white balance, but the battery just doesn't match. It lasted about 55 minutes of an hour-long presentation before he died, and there wasn't even a full brightness light. I will continue to use it though; Maybe the battery just needs a full cycle of 100% discharge and recharge? UPDATED (June 2nd) - Yes, all I had to do was do a full…

A decent hot shoe light is a good outlet for close-ups

Well I've had this thing for a few months now. I finally experienced that in an indie film I made for college. Illuminating objects up close can be tricky in tight spaces, and of course that's down to your DSLR. Light output A+. As this is a light this is a really long and short review but I noticed a couple of things that I want to point out. heavier. That means your tripod mount needs to be able to support that weight. Gorrilapods and other small tripods won't work, and if you have an…

Make sure you really need it for your application

Tested on: Nikon 3400 DSL (entry-level digital SLR) compatible and suitable My level of photography: Amateur and educational personal use, I'm a bit disappointed. I feel like this panel attached to your camera in daylight or normal light is not really needed. If my photos are too dark, what can this light do, my camera can, simply by adjusting the aperture settings in manual mode. The filters are good, but the time it takes to swap out one filter for another is something I could do in my photo…

That's what I'm talking about!

As a former avid photographer, I have a bunch of old Nikon film cameras (does anyone remember "film"), lenses, motors, flashes, accessories and - for this test - two giant tripod mounted studio lights with 500 and 1000 watt bulbs with a blue cast and a color temperature similar to daylight. I've used studio lights primarily for close-up and tabletop photography, and they gave off so much heat that they could melt the subject if I wasn't careful. While I miss some aspects of film photography…

A PRETTY COOL ITEM THAT WILL NOT FIT SONY ALPHA CAMERAS HOTSHOES

Be sure to read the rest of the review but this part is actually a later addition to the review. I loaned this to a professional photographer to try and give me feedback and that's what he said: it will NOT be good for portrait photography because the light will be too harsh and directional BUT it's a great device for a small Product. Photography (exactly what I wanted it for), especially desktop photography because it's lightweight, easy to use and has smooth adjustment of the color…
