Great lighting for photography

I wanted something with good white balance/CRI for continuous lighting from a photo lightbox, but the CFBs that came with my stand/mounting kit were HUGE and didn't quite match the lightboxes I had. These LED bulbs are MUCH smaller than CFBs and produce (combined) more light (with a more neutral color) at half the power. Out of specification and too expensive for the performance offered (see details)

If I didn't like a light, I would usually just replace it. However, when dealing with a pair of "modern" recessed ceiling lights, I had to look for another solution. You see, these lights were probably considered modern in 1962. Today they're just big metal boxes with sliding glass (similar to a built-in bathroom light). No J box. Amazing light output from such a compact bulb - 130 lumens per watt of electricity

The advances in LED lighting technology in recent years have been amazing. Slightly larger than a typical 100-watt incandescent bulb, this lamp produces many times the light while using just over a quarter of the electricity.
