FIX: Do not update to firmware 1.4 with Cannon R5

Wanted to update my review, exascend updated my original card's firmware and sent it back AND sent another 512 gigabyte card! Both now work fine with my R5 and updated version 1.4fw. Service + โค๏ธ

Pros
  • 512GB capacity. 5 year limited warranty
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Good after replacement after firmware update to R5

Worked great (5 stars) but when I updated my Canon R5 to firmware 1.4.0 it stopped working. Then contacting the Revain seller took a few tries and they finally decided to send me a new one with updated firmware. As a result, the card was invalid for about a month and could not be used. Now they have replaced it and the new card is working again. Initially, the support service was inconvenient, but in the end they figured it out.

Pros
  • Compatible with Canon EOS 1DX MKIII, EOS R5; and Nikon D6, Z6, Z7; and Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R, DC-51 and others.
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Does not work with Canon firmware 1.4.0

I updated my Canon R5 to the latest firmware (1.4.0) and immediately this card stopped working properly. I can do nothing more! Please take care of yourself!

Pros
  • Backwards compatible with some XQD cameras, camera firmware update may be required
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Does not work with Canon R5 1.4 firmware

This product no longer works, after updating the firmware to R5 version 1.4. Since I haven't found any other brand issues, I have to assume the problem is with the ExAscend card. Although there is a five-year guarantee, contacting ExAscend does not seem possible. In the future I will use brands I have heard of.

Pros
  • CFexpress Type B card (not compatible with CF, CFast slots) NVMe 1.3 protocol and PCIe Gen.3x2 interface
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
