If you are already familiar with solid fuel and think it's a good choice, this stove is a great choice. It's lightweight, works well as a windscreen in wind speeds below 10 mph, is durable and is easy to clean in the dishwasher. I never seem to be able to boil 750ml no matter what brand of solid fuel or stove top I use, but they all heat water hot enough for freeze dried/instant coffee.

Sooo perfect, sooo light and takes up almost no space. I assume the sidewalls are reasonably windproof and strong enough that I don't have to worry about them breaking. I've been using the MSR pocket rocket for a number of years, but I don't like packing empty gas cans. I tried this new stove and yes it boiled a pint of water in 8 or 9 minutes.
