These are good big staples for the garden, like the ones you would use for weed cloth. I recently rewired our pet deterrent system and wanted the cord to be simpler, all the way down to the ground and under the lawnmower blades. Using a 1 pound rubber mallet and a box of these staples, my son and I were able to run 375 feet of new wire and hammer the staples into the ground in about 45 minutes. This definitely speeds up lawn mowing instead of getting the wire out of the way.

Love these staples and also the #14 wire. I didn't have to use very many of these since I chose to bury the wire, but they came in handy when I needed to secure the wire around curves or hills. Several struts struck rock and survived the collision to be replaced elsewhere. I suspect more is needed when I get to a rough and bushy area where there is little chance of burying the wire. I was satisfied with their price and performance. You should fix the wire well on the surface of the earth.
