I am new to using shaving brushes and thought the price was reasonable to try this one. The stand was initially too narrow, making it difficult to insert and remove the shaving brush. I managed to bend the hooks holding the brush and now they work better. I wish the bowl was mounted differently, it's a little awkward to take it off as the brush gets in the way. Have been using it for 3 months now. The brush is very comfortable and doesn't shed (I soak in warm water, not hot). The holder is good, works great with my safety razor (even with a short handle). The bowl is plastic but a bit bigger than others I've had, I can fit 5 ounces of shaving soap in it so that's nice. I had two sets but this is a really good set that can't go wrong.

I had another shaving balm bowl but it didn't have a built in razor holder or brush holder and this one was perfect. Not very expensive and honestly the biggest selling point was how small it is, I shave so perfectly and my razor sits well on my back. I found this brush while looking for a new brush that is no longer commercially available. I thought this would be a clever way to organize my shaving supplies. However, the mug is too shallow to hold a mess of whipped foam and it goes all over the place. Its performance should be at least twice as high. I may have to resort to the Old Spice ceramic shaving bowl.
