Small size fits our 4 month old baby well. She is 14 pounds. She didn't poop while wearing them so I can't comment on how well they contain solids.

I don't understand how this can be called a swim diaper. Inside there is no semblance of an absorbent pad. You can also simply leave your child unclothed or buy another product.

This suits my toddler perfectly for toddler swimming lessons. Using the size chart on the Finis website, I ordered a small one. True to size, she worked for 3 to 6.5 months while weighing 11.5 to 16 pounds. I will say that I have no idea how a swim diaper is supposed to work. but it licked when the baby peed. From what I learned in swimming lessons they are basically number two! :)
