Decent starter set

My son got this for Christmas and loved learning origami. The instructions are a little clear, but we've often found the best creation guides on YouTube Kids. He liked YouTube videos better because he could start and stop videos while working and rewind videos when he was confused. The instructions in the book did not always allow this. The paper is also of high quality, there are enough mistakes.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

A little less enthusiastic

My first origami kit is a great collection of drawings and paper and my 6 year old granddaughter really enjoyed the face stickers but I have two caveats. For those considering this set: 1) With my years of origami experience, I didn't find the instructions for many of the figures as good as I've seen them everywhere; I think they will disappoint someone unfamiliar with origami. 2) Also, I think the suggested age range (6 years and older) in Revain's description is too small. My granddaughter…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Poor instructions.: Activities, crafts and games

First of all, there is a lot of paper in the kit, good quality paper and a wide range of designs. However, due to the poorly illustrated instructions, this is not an easy set. The steps should be easy, but it's impossible to follow the directions for some of the basic folds that many projects require. My 7 year old is smart and I am smart but we couldn't figure out how to craft the depth charge base which is the basis for several current projects. We ended up having to watch videos online…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good introduction to origami - some steps are difficult to follow

This book requires an accompanying YouTube video or similar. Some of the descriptions and pictures are difficult to understand and I ended up looking on YouTube for clearer instructions. My son loves origami and I try to help him with it, but after a few of these I quickly lose patience with some figures. For example, the orange paper they use for the butterfly didn't show the creases well in the picture, so it's hard to see well enough to know what my creases should look like. I had to search…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
