I didn't heed other reviews' warnings and went up a size. My daughter is tiny, at 12% small. We received them and I washed and dried them straight away, my toddler tried them on and they are fine. The thickness of the fabric is great, it doesn't cut through you too easily. The length is about an inch above her ankles, shorter than I like but not by that much.
