Both my daughters are tall and thin. I bought these pants in a size 5/6 for my 4.5 year old daughter who normally wears a size 6. They are VERY long for her both at the waist and ankles. My seven year old can wear them but the waist is still high and a bit loose. She wears a size 7/8 and the bottom of the flared trousers reach to the floor. I bought these leggings for my daughter's 5th birthday party and they fit perfectly! I bought size 10/11 but she usually wears size 7/8. I wasn't sure if the waistband would be too tight, and I wasn't sure how stretchy this type of material would be. We have blue mermaid foil leggings for 3 girls. The length seemed almost as expected but a little long on one pair - we just rolled up the top. We've washed them a few times - no scratch marks. Seen from the wrong side of the fabric, they seem to become more transparent with each wash, but are not yet visible from the front (2-3 washes).
