Works like clockwork: Antennas

Works great! The L bracket doesn't look thick or strong enough, but it's holding up so far. I only use a 2ft antenna so that's probably good enough.

Pros
  • Cable length: 5m / 16.4ft
Cons
  • Some issues

Cheap Coaxial Cable - Accessory

The coaxial cable they put on it is junk. This is a foil screen with a very thin wire mesh around it. Solid wire inner conductor not suitable for mobile environments where vibration will break it.

Pros
  • Accessory
Cons
  • So far so good

Not happy with it

I was disappointed that the center wire of the coax cable came loose from the NMO pin at the solder joint. The strain relief is poorly attached to the NMO package, so even a small amount of torque stresses the solder joint. I could change it by soldering the internal bits together, but I don't think I had to do that. A waterproof(?) shield on the bottom also doesn't help to keep the coax dry, but it can be sealed.

Pros
  • Antennas
Cons
  • No automatic
