Misleading advertising

Advertised as polarized. The glasses came as normal, not polarized. Also, the base tint (amber) was unevenly applied to the glass from top to bottom. When viewed, the top was bluish, the center was amber, and the bottom was light amber. Most likely another fake.

As good as the original

I like the new version. I've had the originals for over 20 years. I bought a couple of pairs a long time ago when I was riding a motorcycle. They are the same as the originals but with fancy colored lenses. I felt transported to the next century. The lenses are not as dark as the originals, but close enough. I'm considering buying another pair.

Proven product

I bought this product because I had a pair in the early 1990's as they were popular with our soldiers during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The design really protects the eyes from sunlight, dust and sand. The price hasn't increased much since I bought a pair, but some technological improvements have been made. A warning though. They are not sand/dust resistant to surface scratching, so handle them carefully and often and clean them thoroughly under these conditions.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not trendy

Still great for accessories

I've been a fan of these glasses since '88. I bought my first pair (blue ones in 1989) (much to my mother's chagrin as they cost $88 at the time. An outrageous amount to spend) when I was 16). Then I bought a gold pair in 1990 (which I still own) and still love them. They are very strong and durable. Since large glasses have long since gone out of fashion, I haven't worn my gold glasses for many years. I canceled and re-watched The Terminator and forgot how cool they are, so I looked up to see…

Is it a fake or is the quality of the gargoyles very bad

First of all, I already had gargoyles, so I know their quality. These are such bad manufacturers that there can only be fakes or the quality at Gargoyles has gone beyond the bad. The lenses are not ground on the edges, they are as stated on the Gargoyle website and there is an obvious burr from the molding. The edges of the lens are so sharp that you could cut yourself if you run it over your skin. I can only imagine what would happen if they were pushed back by a hit, even a light one. Then…

Awesome retro gargoyles!

I've read several reviews criticizing Gargoyles for their quality compared to the "original" (1980's). I bought them a bit reluctantly but figured I could send them back if they aren't up to date. All low quality reports do not match what I found. The hands are metal with a plastic sock for the ears. It's not bad quality. Try wearing metal headphones. Not comfortable. The mounting points on the lenses are solid, in fact they are molded onto the lens. The arms are attached with a metal bracket…

Excellent Perfect Modified

My husband uses these for protection as he has implants for glaucoma. They are strong and crystal clear. I even managed to remove the protective side panels (which he doesn't use), this time without destroying them. He wears these glasses all day, every day. This is his second pair. The first pair broke where the hinge attaches to the lens because there is too much pressure when wearing them. When both sides were fully open they formed a barely open triangle (too tight). Taking a closer look at

Cold tones. pairs well with sunglasses

Man these things are amazing. They are bigger than I expected. But it suits me. The mirror effect on the outside of the lenses is very transparent. Putting them on and then looking at myself in the mirror reminds me of the police goggles Cartman wore when he was replaced and he started patrolling the city on his big bike, speeding speeders and quelling domestic disturbances. When your wife needs to check her makeup, all she has to do is stare at her reflection by looking at you while you warn…
