Gatco 4242 Latitude Towel Chrome Review

Looked fine for a few weeks but then noticed black chips on the countertop. Finish peeling. Disappointed as it took a long time to choose a decent matte black option.

This is a great product and doesn't squeak like similar products sold in major retailers. Pretty intuitive, only takes a while as you have to use an Allen key to install.

Love the look and especially that it doesn't protrude far from the wall to get in the way of the cupboard door (I have a cupboard door over the counter that opens to the towel rail) . Looks great and works. It doesn't feel heavy like the really expensive ones, but it feels pretty heavy and works and looks great.

Bought less than a year ago and found the black paint chipping after a few months. I have a similar towel ring from another company and it has a nice rubber grommet where the ring meets the wall mount to keep it together and look a lot nicer. It has no gasket and the ring comes out and doesn't stick back. Looks bad.

We have two of these rings in our washroom and need replacing. With every movement they emit a terrible screeching, similar to bad children's devices. They weren't able to add a piece of plastic between the ring and the base like our other towel rings have. If the squeaking bothers you, choose a different product. Otherwise they are good.

I bought this along with the Lattitude II towel rails. The towel rails work well and look good. However, the towel ring is not very well made. First, the ring itself is loosely attached to the mount, so it wobbles a bit and feels slightly empty. The existing (builder's) towel ring that was to be replaced has a plastic cup that allows the ends of the ring to fit into the bracket and prevent wobbling. It's sad when your upgrade is worse than what the builder installed. I come back.

This arrived from Revain two days ago. I have to agree with those who say it looks cheap. It also looks cheap. All packed and ready for return. This towel ring fits a standard size towel. I find it a little big to put a towel next to the sink - just in case you're thinking about buying one for that reason. We bought this towel ring and matching toilet paper holder and coat hook for our master bathroom about 5 months ago. Our local hardware store had the same set but at a much higher price. So far we are very satisfied with all the items in the set. Our bathroom is small, and the towel ring and other items don't take up too much space. Looks and feels like quality gear. The only complaint I have is the description of the size of this item. I wanted a ring about 6" in diameter, I measured it today and it has an outside diameter of 6.5" which is fine. However, if you look under the size in the product description, it says 7 x 2.2 x 8 inches. So it's really the size of the packaging it's in, not the product itself!
