I used them straight out of the box before washing. They soaked in well before washing. After washing, they are still very absorbent. They dry quickly even in a purse or trouser pocket. Very pretty handkerchiefs, nice stripe design sets them apart from the dress, but not too conspicuously. I wish I could find them in blue-brown too. Very satisfied . They need a few washes to get softer but they come out fine, just wash in cold water on a delicates and either tumble dry or tumble dry low by removing and folding hot and no need to iron. This is the minimum size for me and just right. I miss it so much that years ago you could buy a 20 inch square of linen for $1 at the hair…

Beautiful cotton handkerchiefs at a very good price. Big enough! HOORAY. I don't like small handkerchiefs. They wash great. I read some reviews about the complaint you need ironing. My answer is if you tumble dry them, take them out and quickly fold them, they really don't need to be ironed. . . but in fact - who does not like to iron handkerchiefs. They crunch so beautifully! I would order them again in a heartbeat. . . but it will take time to wear them out.

I waited to review until they were washed and my husband used them. He is happy with it and will order more if needed. We went everywhere, even upscale men's stores, in search of a decent man's handkerchief that he wears every day of his adult life. Suddenly, a few years ago, the quality went to zero. I rarely write reviews. I ALWAYS have two or three tissues in my pocket all year round. I am allergic to all species, have constant colds and a runny nose. I always have dozens of tissues ready. I need good ones NOT seen by the Forsaken. I ordered a dozen of these to try as I wasn't sure based on some of the reviews. I need good handkerchiefs. I just ordered a dozen more.
