I had a belt from another seller that said "40" for a 38 inch waist. I've lost some weight and wanted a better belt so I bought a 38 waist here (recommended for 36 inches) expecting to lose 2 inches. Instead, this belt was slightly longer than my old 40's and left me (36" waist) with 5 extra cutouts. I've attached a picture of a belt against a tape measure so you can draw your own conclusions. They claim it's 100% real leather. There's a thin outer leather sheath (I think) around what looks like a man-made material. I love this belt! I took the risk of buying it. Here's what happened: It came in a nice box and in a white bag - very elegant. I ordered it larger: my size is 66, so I got a size 68. Fits perfectly. It fits perfectly in pant loops. When it arrived I smelled it immediately. Pooh! Slightly unpleasant smell. My wife hated the smell but I put it outside for 1 1/2 days and the smell wore off.
