NOT Gingher, genuine brand - Tooltron

NOT Gingher, not what I paid for. Compared to my other Gingher shears, these blades don't slide smoothly. They don't cut the tips of the blades at all. In addition, the leather sheath to protect the tip is more like thin cardboard, the tip of the scissors protrudes straight out of the ground when in use. Nothing like my other Gingher shears. Very disappointing.

Pros
  • Handsome
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Buy it. Spend a few bucks more and buy quality

I LOVE them so much I had to hide them from my kids. I bought them for sewing, embroidery and cross stitch. They are ideal because they are very sharp and easily fit in even the smallest stick box. However, its size and attractiveness lead my kids to believe they can use it for their arts and crafts projects, which usually involve cardboard, colored paper, and the like. Not to mention that they are very sharp and can easily cut themselves.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

I bought these based on the reputation of the gingher scissors. But as you can see from the photo, this is not the packaging the seller showed and the Gingher name is nowhere to be found. The scissors are embossed with the word "Italy" and the entire packaging says Tooltron, a Berne, Texas company. You can…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic

I have better in Art Supplies

I like gingher scissors. I have several different pairs of large ones. They are sharp, can be sharpened and some come in cases. I thought it was "more". They appear to be more fragile than some of my other "detailing shears" but they are sharp and the case is a nice bonus. Love the two tone look and overall design, just wish they didn't feel so cheap, especially knowing how big the Ginghers are in comparison to them. I use these scissors to cut paper and sew fabric. I have leather and PVC that…
