Item as described. a bit tough to splice, but once you get the hang of it it's definitely manageable. .041 gauge stainless steel wire is fine for splicing but my kid gave me what he said was a broken B string from his guitar and it worked MUCH better. or you can buy a right size D welder. 1.7 for anything where you absolutely don't need a 1.7mm diameter, I recommend 2.2 as it's softer, easier to splice and stronger. The difference in weight is negligible if the length is less than a full spool

I use this logging rope to attach makeshift ham radio antennas to trees. I bought one coil and liked it so much I bought 3 more (for loop antennas that need multiple support points).
