Avoid These Telescope Filters

Based on my experience, these filters aren't worth it. The only pro was that they fit my eyepieces, but that's about it. The cons outweighed any benefit, as the filter caused a significant loss in image quality. It's unfortunate that such a poorly performing product is available in the camera and photo accessories category of electronics.

Pros
  • Enhances the quality of telescope observations by blocking light pollution and increasing contrast.
Cons
  • May provide limited improvement for amateur astronomers who do not have high quality telescopes.

Didn't reveal planetary features as I had hoped.

Although I attached them to my telescope's eyepiece lens and obscured the image, I couldn't see more detail of Saturn and Jupiter with them.

Pros
  • 7 1.25" telescopic filters included. Includes 1 Crystalview moon filter, 1 #3 polarizing filter, 5 planetary filters: #56 green, #12 yellow, #23A red, #21 orange and #82A blue.
Cons
  • So far, so good

Good eyepiece filters at a good price

I bought them mainly to observe Mars at maximum approach , so my experience is limited to the red and orange filters. They were very helpful for this application. While the red filter gave the biggest contrast boost, I used the orange filter more often because it boosted the contrast and made it easier to highlight the tiny polar cap. My only minor gripe is that the packaging, while solid, isn't secure, not particularly helpful, you can put a piece of white paper in each box so you can see the…

Pros
  • All filters have M28.5x0.6 1.25" stand and filter thread on both sides. With metal frame and optical glass.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
