Product looks and feels cheap (wires are easily misaligned and plastic is light, scratched and poorly finished). The packaging looks and feels cheap. Of course, the price is also cheap. Cheap, cheap, cheap. BUT it works GREAT and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to use a pattern on their hair. PS (My hair is thin but long, thick and a little wavy).

Doesn't waste time going to other African American barber shops and works just as well. There are several types that look very similar, but this brand matches the density and weight of my afro. The metal is neither thin nor super thick, but strong enough that I can tug my hair wet or dry.

I ordered six of these to comb fiber/spunbond. To do this, I welded two teeth together with the teeth not being centered on each other. I combed just like you do with ordinary Valkyries or other combs. I'm going to save the last two to make a hairpin by attaching it to a block or something, I haven't figured out that part yet. They make a good worsted top, but not great. For the price they are worth it for the slower worsted spin.

I don't use it as a hairstyle, I use it as a braiding accessory. This should work well as the prongs are straight and slightly rounded on the ends to avoid snagging and will not scratch your scalp or pinch hair when used on hair. Taking off a star for there being unsightly stains on one side of the hairpin handle which made it look used even though it was sealed in the packaging.
