Bad design, DO NOT BUY.

As at least one person has mentioned, the hinges used on this product are too big so the legs become levers that actually rip the screws out of the wood without supporting the weight of the person on the bench. Perhaps if this bench had used different hinges or made room for a hinge it would have worked, but in its current form it broke a few months after purchase.

If you are looking for a fantastic solid meditation bench this is the one for you. I recommend it!

I really like this bench. I'm a tall guy - 250# - I was afraid my legs would be too. If for a bank and I fit perfectly. Really strong bamboo construction to keep it stable. The hinges are designed to prevent the legs from snapping when folded. great bench! Order and delivery was instant, no complaints about this product or the seller.

This is terribly wrong. It's not worth your money!

DO NOT BUY! This is very wrong. I am very disappointed in this. I had high hopes for it. It couldn't support my weight. This item has door hinges that are huge for it. When the legs fold outwards, any forces due to the hinges will move the small tiny screws that hold them together. The central part of the hinges is too large, creating a large gap between the seat and the leg, making the legs not doing their job, that is, supporting the weight of the seat. Very pretty - just what I needed!

This is my first meditation bench, so I can't compare it to other products, but I'm very happy with the purchase. The bench is the right height for me (I'm 5ft 6in). I can sit in seiza or in a simple lotus. I don't use padding on the bench itself, but I like the padding under the knees. The bench makes a high-quality and robust impression.
