Coupled with the Etekcity ignition system and a medium flame, I was able to boil 2 cups (16 ounces) of water in about 8 minutes. The boil was centered and did not spread across the floor. I would not recommend this for baking/cooking. Perfect for boiling liquids, did the job well. I bought this pot separately to replace the pot in my cheap Wal-Mart (Ozark Trail) camping kit. I used the pan in this set once before the nonstick coating dissolved in my food.
